with Jason Clark and based on the Jim Henson film, September 2015
To welcome new students to campus each fall, WAVE Productions presents "The Incest Show" an adaption of a piece of popular culture (performed by those already involved with their upcoming season, thus "incest"). For the 2015-2016 season, Hartman pitched and lead an adaptation of Jim Henson, Brian Froud, and David Bowie's Labyrinth in promenade. As a coming of age story, the production used the maze of campus (mostly unfamiliar to its 18-year-old audience) as the labyrinth. Just as Jennifer Connelly's Sarah found her adulthood in the 1986 film, the audience wound through the lakeside campus encountering a site-specific extravaganza meant to bring them into a new independence.
